Money Orders, Cashiers Checks and Gift Cards*

Ready to take a vacation?  United Credit Union offer VISA Gift Cards to use for your travel needs.  Cost is $2.50 per card and can be purchased in denominations of $10-$500.  VISA Gift Cards can be used world-wide anywhere VISA Debit is accepted, as a safe and convenient alternative to cash.  However, unlike cash, gift cards can be replaced if lost or stolen.  They are also a great gift for those on your gift list who have everything. 

Have you ran out of checks and need to pay some bills?  United Credit Union money orders are a great way to pay bills or send money to someone who won't accept personal checks.  For only $0.50,  money orders can be purchased for any dollar amount and can be tracked if lost in the mail.

Trying to buy a new car or that first home?  United Credit Union cashiers checks can be purchased for any dollar amount at a fee of $1.00.  Unlike some personal checks, cashiers checks can be deposited or cashed without a hold being placed on the funds.  Cashiers checks are a safe alternative to cash for those larger purchases.  The only information needed is the payee's name.

Wire Transfers and Western Unions*                            

Need to send money to your special college student who just can't finish that physics paper without that new computer?  Is someone you love stranded in Europe because they took cash on a vacation instead of travelers checks?  We have the solution!!!  United Credit Union offers members the ability to wire funds to financial institutions all over the world and the ability to send money all over the world via Western Union.  Call for more information and the fee schedule.

Discount Amusement Park Tickets*

Exclusively to members, United Credit Union offers discount tickets to Six Flags, Worlds of Fun, Big Surf and Silver Dollar City.  We offer a variety of ticket options including Season and Two-Day passes.  Tickets are available at great savings over gate prices.  Call a member service representative or come in to see us for pricing.

US Savings Bonds*

United Credit Union offers several different savings bond options to members.  Savings bonds can be a wonderful gift for anyone or just a wonderful, safe way to save money.  We offer any savings bond available through the US Government.  Gift certificates are also available. 

Need a little extra cash?  United Credit Union can also cash in your US Savings Bond or just let you know how much they are worth.  Call for details.                                                                                     

Safe Deposit Boxes

For all those important papers, valuables and family heir looms, United Credit Union offers safe deposit boxes to members.  The boxes are located in the Mexico and Vandalia locations and are available in various sizes and price ranges.  Call one of our offices for availability.

Scholarships                                                                                 

We all know how quickly college expenses can pile up.  United Credit Union offers assistance.  The credit union awards $500 scholarships to eight area students every May.  In order to qualify, an individual must be currently attending or planning to attend a school of advanced education, have maintained an overall high school grade point average of at least 2.75, must have good citizenship and leadership characteristics and be active in school and community activities.  Ask for a scholarship application at one of our offices or your high school guidance counselor's office. 

Deadline for scholarships is April 1st.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance

The credit union offers a free $1000 Accidental Death or Dismemberment Policy, all you have to do is sign up.  Additional coverage can be purchased.  Please call the credit union for more information.
